The police interrogated the actor, asking him more than 50 questions related to his awareness of the situation and his actions at the theatre on that fateful night.
Sources report that Allu Arjun was summoned by the police on Monday and appeared for questioning at Chikkadpally police station on Tuesday. His arrival was met with tight security, with roads leading to the station being barricaded. The actor, who was accompanied by his father, filmmaker Allu Aravind, father-in-law Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy, and legal representatives, arrived at the station at 11 am. The questioning, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshansh Yadav, lasted until 2:45 pm.
During the interrogation, Allu Arjun was asked a series of probing questions, including whether he was aware that police permission had been denied for his visit to the premiere and if he had been informed of the stampede outside the theatre. Officers also asked him when he first learned of the woman’s death. Additionally, they inquired if his PR team had briefed him about the situation after his arrival at the venue, where a large crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the star.
The police had issued a notice to Allu Arjun following the release of a video showing the stampede at Sandhya Theatre. The notice highlighted that, according to the investigation, the actor’s cooperation was crucial. “The case is under investigation, and your presence is quite essential before the undersigned officer to elicit answers from you about the incident and, if necessary, for visiting the scene of the offence, in order to ascertain the true facts,” the notice stated.
The stampede occurred when an unexpectedly large number of fans gathered outside the theatre to see Allu Arjun, resulting in the unfortunate death of a woman in the crowd. The investigation is ongoing as the police seek to determine the events leading up to the tragedy.
