For most actors in Indian cinema, working with visionary filmmaker SS Rajamouli is a dream come true. Known for his grand cinematic scale and record-shattering hits, Rajamouli has become a top name on nearly every star’s wishlist. However, for Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi, the story takes a different turn.
During a recent promotional event, Chiranjeevi shared his candid thoughts on why a collaboration with Rajamouli might not be on the horizon. While he deeply admires the director’s brilliance and dedication, the veteran actor admitted that their working styles don’t align.
“I Can’t Give 5 Years to One Film,” Says Chiranjeevi
In an interview with a national entertainment outlet, Chiranjeevi said,
“I have immense respect for Rajamouli and his craft, but I don’t think I can commit the kind of time he demands. He puts four to five years into making a single film. Meanwhile, I’m working on four films at the same time. That level of time investment just doesn’t suit how I operate.”
Chiranjeevi also clarified that he doesn’t feel the pressure to prove himself on a pan-India scale through a Rajamouli collaboration.
“I’m not chasing national recognition through a film with Rajamouli. That’s not something I feel the need to establish at this stage of my career,” he added.
Ram Charan’s Rajamouli Success
Interestingly, Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan has already enjoyed massive success with Rajamouli. Their collaborations on Magadheera and the international blockbuster RRR catapulted Charan to global fame, proving the director’s magic touch once again.
Chiranjeevi’s Focus: Staying Productive, His Way
While a Rajamouli-Chiranjeevi project may remain a distant dream, the megastar shows no signs of slowing down. He is currently busy with multiple upcoming projects, including films with directors Srikanth Odela and Anil Ravipudi. By sticking to a fast-paced and diverse film schedule, Chiranjeevi is staying true to the work style that’s brought him decades of success.
