Kajal Aggarwal Enters Ramayana Universe Opposite Yash

Kajal Aggarwal, last seen in Salman Khan’s recent film Sikandar, has been officially cast as Mandodari in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of Ramayana. Despite earlier reports suggesting Sakshi Tanwar for the role, a production insider has confirmed Kajal’s casting, adding that she has already begun filming her portions.

Mandodari, the wise and principled queen of Lanka, holds a crucial place in the epic. As the daughter of the demon king Mayasura and celestial nymph Hema, she is revered for her unwavering moral compass and efforts to guide Ravana toward righteousness. Her counsel to return Sita and choose the path of dharma during Ravana’s descent makes her a deeply respected figure in the story.

In this mega-budget, two-part film, Kajal will star alongside Yash, who portrays Ravana. The ensemble cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Co-produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash, the first part of Ramayana is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release, with the second chapter following in Diwali 2027.
