This Star Hero Believes Remakes Are Becoming Irrelevant

Date:

Amidst the promotional whirlwind for his upcoming film “The Goat Life,” Prithviraj Sukumaran finds himself immersed in Telugu promotions in Hyderabad, engaging in numerous interviews. When questioned about his thoughts on recent Telugu remakes of Malayalam films such as “Bheemla Nayak,” “God Father,” and “Hunt,” which were adaptations of “Ayappanum Koshiyum,” “Lucifer,” and “Mumbai Police” respectively, Prithviraj revealed that his busy schedule, particularly as a director, has limited his film viewing time. However, he did manage to catch glimpses of “God Father” and “Bheemla Nayak.”

Expressing surprise at the revelation that “Mumbai Police” had been remade in Telugu as “Hunt,” Prithviraj Sukumaran emphasized his belief that the film industry is transitioning into an era where remakes may become obsolete. With the increasing trend of films being dubbed into multiple languages, he asserted that simultaneous multilingual releases, as planned for “The Goat Life,” render the need for remakes less relevant. Prithviraj concluded by suggesting that remakes may become less frequent in the future, reflecting a shift in audience preferences and industry dynamics.
