“Maharaja’s” potential was overshadowed by the recently released “Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas. Prabhas enjoys significant popularity in Tamil Nadu due to his earlier “Baahubali” series. Additionally, “Kalki 2898 AD” features Kamal Haasan in a pivotal role, boosting its performance in the Tamil market. Consequently, “Maharaja” experienced a drop in collections due to these factors. However, the film is expected to surpass 80 crores in its full run, which still marks a successful comeback for Vijay Sethupathi.
