Just a day ago, social media buzzed with speculation that Tollywood star Jr NTR would be portraying the legendary Dadasaheb Phalke in an upcoming biopic. Reports also suggested that director SS Rajamouli, along with his son Karthikeya and Varun Gupta, would be producing the film. Fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages, believing NTR was the perfect fit for the iconic role.
However, putting all rumors to rest, an official announcement today confirmed that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will be stepping into the shoes of Dadasaheb Phalke, often regarded as the Father of Indian Cinema. What’s even more exciting is that the film will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani, marking the third collaboration between the celebrated actor-director duo after the blockbusters 3 Idiots and PK.
The biopic will trace the journey of Dadasaheb Phalke, the visionary who laid the foundation for Indian cinema post-independence. The film is expected to go on floors in October 2025, with high expectations surrounding this cinematic tribute.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is currently wrapping up work on his next project, Sitaare Zameen Par, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 20th.
